I appreciate your honesty on a subject that can be uncomfortable for many. I had a severe postpartum depression and anxiety in 2000 and received proper treatment and follow up. I thank God everyday that all the pieces fell into place for me but for many women they do not.

Recovery is unique for each woman and how she gets well is her decision. Medication or not medication..that decision is always up to her.

Thanks again. Blessings to you for your courage.

This is a fantastic post and I so appreciate your comments, especially in light of the negativity in the media about the Mother's Act by women with their own agenda regarding medication who clearly haven't read the bill.

I too am a survivor of PPD and relied on a mix of talk therapy, Prozac, yoga and better nutrition to get through it. I say that whatever helps women get through the darkness to the other side is a good thing, whether it's a SSRI, an herb, or whatever.

Kudos to you for increasing awareness and trying to end the stigma attached to PPD.

Warmly,
Kristin Park

A very evenhanded treatment of a touchy subject. Glad you're better. I love Zoloft. I love Welbutrin too. Unfortunately I've loved a lot of drugs that don't come from the drug store but that's another story.

Take care.
